Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport is opening in late 2026, with cargo operations from July and the first passenger flights from October. Alongside the airport, Greenfields Development Company has lodged a development application for a proposed $127 million film and television studio at Oran Park — three soundstages, production offices and specialist facilities, with a 2027 opening target subject to funding. If it proceeds, Western Sydney Studios would be only the second major studio precinct in Sydney, supplementing the Disney Studios facility at Moore Park. The NSW Government has committed a $100 million capital fund as part of a broader $380 million screen and digital investment package, with an expressions of interest process underway to determine the final studio location.
